Lately, Corey Pronman has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Whether it's because of his prospect rankings or when he says the Canadiens aren't a good team, the analyst is drawing attention to himself…
For all the wrong reasons, of course.
That said, in the long run, the prospect expert still has enough confidence in the plan the Montreal Canadiens are building under HuGo.
Why do I say that?
Because in an article where he ranks the teams that will be competing for the Stanley Cup in 2031, he placed the Canadiens second on his list.

Despite all the ridiculous things he's said in recent days, I think this ranking is spot-on from the Canadiens' perspective. After all, the team in first place has all the tools it needs to succeed in the long run.
We're talking about the San Jose Sharks, who have Macklin Celebrini and numerous high-quality prospects.
Assuming the teams' rosters remain unchanged (he can't predict departures), Pronman projected the teams' performance and player development to reach his conclusions.
The Canadiens' five power-play players will still be in their prime, and current prospects could join the group to make it even stronger. Everyone understands why the Habs are so high in the rankings.
The Mammoth, the Sabres, and the Maple Leafs round out the top five. Seeing Toronto in the top five reminds me that Pronman is still prone to getting it wrong once in a while…
The Canucks, Jets, Penguins, and Flames (from 32nd to 29th) sit at the bottom of the rankings. The Senators are 26th and the Oilers are 15th, which means things aren't looking good for Canadian teams.

– Big win for the Alouettes.
The Alouettes have won seven straight games in a single season for the first time since 2006. The team record is 8, set in 2002. Note: The Alouettes' all-time record is 10 consecutive wins, but that was set over two seasons (2023–2024). cc @RDSca

– Interesting.
Here are highlights from Aatos Koivu's final game of the 2024–25 season. He played 12:05 on the right wing in a 4–3 loss to KooKoo on March 17 in Liiga action. He had two shots on goal and finished +1.https://t.co/n5OoNhbclc pic.twitter.com/Gxfu4ck1td
