Brendan Gallagher has been left out of the Canadiens' last four games.
The veteran is having a tough season; he looks tired on the ice… and Martin St-Louis decided to give him a break by sitting him out since April 5.
And now, given the circumstances, it's “natural” to wonder if tonight's game will be his last in a Canadiens uniform…
Renaud Lavoie addressed the topic during his segment this afternoon on BPM Sports and said he doesn't believe it.
The journalist's explanation makes sense too: if the Habs go deep in the playoffs, there's a (very) good chance we'll see Gally play a few games. There will undoubtedly be injured players, and we know that in the playoffs, coaches change their lineups as needed to create opportunities for their team.

There's also the fact that in the playoffs, experience is a really important factor.
And among all the Habs players who were there during the team's run to the finals in the 2021 playoffs, we mustn't forget Brendan Gallagher… who played a key role in the team's success thanks to his leadership qualities.
The Canadiens might need Gally's experience to move forward, and that's no secret.
Everyone is aware that he's no longer the same player on the ice… but everyone also understands that his mere presence can make a difference, especially within a young team like the Montreal Canadiens.
Of course, we're all wondering what the future holds for the small forward who has served the Habs organization so well. Will he be in Montreal next season? Will he play for another NHL team?
It doesn't matter. What matters is what's coming up… and it will be interesting to see if Martin St-Louis calls on his services during the playoffs.
