Rookie match: Florian Xhekaj throws down the gauntlet on his first appearance

This afternoon, the Canadiens take on the Maple Leafs. It’s a duel taking place at the Bell Centre… and one in which the youngsters are trying to make their mark.

For many, it’s a chance to win points.

The Habs were keeping an eye on a number of prospects, including Florian Xhekaj. Arber’s brother isn’t exactly a soft touch himself… and he proved it today.

In his very first appearance, Xhekaj threw down the gloves against a Leafs prospect.

It took less than two minutes.
