David Perron suspended for six games

I don’t know if you watched the Red Wings-Senators game, but if you did, you missed a whole hockey game.

There was no shortage of action.

First, Dylan Larkin took a few hits from Mathieu Joseph and Parker Kelly and fell badly on the ice. The Wings captain remained on the ground for several minutes before getting up on his own.

In a bid to avenge his captain, David Perron delivered a double check to Artem Zub’s face.

Naturally, the Quebecer was ejected from the game, and a few minutes ago we learned that the Disciplinary Committee had handed him a six-game suspension. The Committee had invited Perron in person to explain himself.

Perron will also have to forfeit nearly $150,000.

The Wings forward can appeal if the initial appeal is upheld by Gary Bettman.

In 26 games this season, he has 13 points, including seven goals.

Extension

Another who’s crossed the line recently: Erik Gudbranson. Yesterday, the Blue Jackets defenseman went after Nick Cousins in this sequence.

As a result, the defender will also be suspended, but for one game.

He was summoned to a phone call earlier in the day.
