Sounding like the @MapleLeafs would like a 1 yr deal in ballpark 2.5m #RealKyperandBourne https://t.co/ETMblmDKGM

At the time of writing, Max Domi’s signing with the Maple Leafs is said to be imminent. It’s been the talk of the town in Toronto for the past few hours.
Brad Treliving’s imprint in Toronto would be, among other things, to fill the club with pests. Max Domi, without being so physically imposing, fits perfectly into the mold of the disturbing player that includes Ryan Reaves, signed yesterday, and Tyler Bertuzzi, who reached an agreement with the club today. We’re talking about three players who are hated in the NHL and who aren’t afraid to get their noses dirty.
The club’s new GM clearly wants to tackle the “soft ” reputation the young core has built up in the playoffs.
It’s important to note that, unlike Reaves, who won’t necessarily be in the line-up every night, Max Domi is capable of playing in a top-6 or even a top-9. However, he has been very inconsistent since his 72-point season in Montreal in 2019.
- 2019-2020 (Montreal): 44 points in 71 games
- 2020-2021 (Columbus): 24 points in 54 games
- 2021-2022 (Columbus): 32 points in 53 games
- 2021-2022 (Carolina): 7 points in 19 games
- 2022-2023 (Chicago): 49 points in 60 games
- 2022-2023 (Dallas): 7 points in 20 games
If it materializes, it’ll be interesting to follow!
In a gust
– Not wrong.
A young heavyweight arrived on the scene in Montreal last season, and this summer, Boston adds Lucic and Toronto adds Reaves. The Habs’ two biggest rivals. Look for some extracurricular activities in a few of those matchups this season.
