The Montreal Canadiens finally have a talented team with many players capable of producing and helping the team win crucial games.

As we saw last night, the Habs are able to win games even when they don't deserve to, and that's largely thanks to their varied and diverse talent.

It's an extremely important asset, and one that Montreal has lacked for many years.

The Habs are no longer a team that relies on a single good goal scorer and a goalie descended from the gods to be competitive.

Now, the Habs have a variety of players capable of hurting the opposition, and the proof lies directly in the team's statistics in comparison with those of other teams.

Guillaume Villemaire noted this very revealing statistic via his Twitter account, which features a variety of relevant and interesting statistics.

You read that right, no other NHL team currently has as many 40+ point scorers as the Canadiens.

Nick Suzuki, Lane Hutson, Cole Caufield, Ivan Demidov, and Juraj Slafkovsky represent a talented quintet who lead the Habs by taking turns or combining their efforts.

This is a major strength of the Habs this season, as the team can count on more than one line to contribute offensively.

The Habs may not have a superstar player who stands out with outstanding production like Connor McDavid or Nathan MacKinnon, but they can count on five excellent young hockey players.

And that's clearly preferable to the San Jose Sharks' situation, or should I say, San Jose's Macklin Celebrini.

In short, the Habs enjoy a nice variety of talent and production, and what's more, it comes from its young players who represent the team's future.

The best are the best, and that's more than positive for Martin St-Louis's team.
