The holiday season also means the World Junior Championship.
As we all know, the Montreal Canadiens have a few representatives in this tournament, including L.J. Mooney, Aatos Koivu, and Michael Hage.
The latter is simply incredible so far in this tournament, tied for first in scoring after the first four games. He has accumulated eight points, including six assists.
While there's a lot of talent in this tournament (especially on the Canadiens side), Hage stands out in a big way, and Scott Wheeler of The Athletic has noted his excellent work.
According to Wheeler, Hage is his MVP of the tournament so far.

Honestly, I'm really not surprised to see Hage so dominant through all the talent present in the CMJ. He has everything it takes to look good in this type of competition.
His line, completed by Gavin McKenna and Brady Martin, is simply sublime to watch. It's as if they've always played together. That's what happens when great talents come together: a connection is quickly made.
Watching Hage play for Junior Team Canada, you'd think he's very close to the NHL, even if many don't expect to see him with the big club anytime soon.
Ideally, next season, after his NCAA career, he'd like to play with the Laval Rocket to hone his game and adapt to the professional level.
But the way he's going, I have a strong feeling he can cause a surprise at the Habs' next practice camp and make the big club.
If he can't force the Habs' hand, I'm convinced he'll be called up again next season to officially get his first chance in the NHL.
I can't wait to see him in the most important moments of the tournament. It's all very well to dominate, but if the player fades away in the big moments, it's really not ideal.
A little bird tells me that he won't have any trouble performing under pressure, which will certainly be a big advantage when playing in Montreal.
Overtime
– Very bad timing for Horvat, who has just been named to Team Canada for the Olympic Games.
