Combine: Justin Carbonneau and Bill Zonnon both want to play with Juraj Slafkovsky

A few years ago, when Juraj Slafkovsky was being considered to become the first player to be drafted in the 2022 auction, he mentioned that he could see himself, one day, playing with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

History has taught us that this has happened.

And even this year, thanks in large part to Suzuki and Caufield, the Canadiens’ first line was among the most productive in the league after the holiday season.

Here we are a few years later, and now it’s the turn of the NHL’s young prospects to imagine themselves with Slaf.

Justin Carbonneau, for example, sees himself taking Cole Caufield’s place since, as Anthony Martineau reported, the Armada’s young Québécois could see himself playing with Nick Suzuki and Juraj Slafkovsky.

Carbonneau will meet 26 teams this week – including the Habs, of course. We wonder how he’ll be perceived, since we know that people sometimes question his attitude.

It’ll be up to the teams to judge.

It’s also worth mentioning that Carbonneau isn’t the only Québécois who sees himself playing with Slaf in Montreal. After all, there’s also Bill Zonnon, who spent the last few years in Rouyn-Noranda.

Now he’s been traded to the Armada… and he’s going to try to convince Justin Carbonneau to stay in the Q and not leave for the NCAA. Will he succeed? We’ll have to wait and see.

Zonnon sees himself with Slaf, but also with… Ivan Demidov.

The Montrealer says he had a good laugh with the Habs management, which isn’t exactly the comment that stands out the most when it comes to talking about the Canadiens’ interviews at the combine.
