Top-2: Jamie Drysdale earns second point in two games with Flyers

There were only two games in the National Hockey League yesterday, so here’s a quick look at what caught the eye in each of those two games.

1. Jamie Drysdale already gets his second point in two games with the Flyers

The deal sending prospect Cutter Gauthier to Anaheim and young defenseman Jamie Drysdale to Philadelphia took everyone by surprise this week.

We weren’t expecting such a big deal at the start of 2024.

Anyway, the trade is done, and Jamie Drysdale has already started playing with the Flyers.

Last night, he picked up his second point in two games in his new uniform, with an assist on Owen Tippett’s tying goal.

That’s two assists in two games for Drysdale, who was the second most-used defenseman last night against the Wild with 22:09 of ice time.

Let’s see if Drysdale can explode in terms of offensive production, since in Anaheim he was often hampered by major injuries.

Note that the Flyers won in overtime thanks to Joel Farabee.

2. Big win for Predators in Western playoff race

Now that we’re officially at mid-season in the NHL, the playoff races in both conferences become all the more interesting.

We have an idea of which teams will only solidify their playoff spot during this second half of the season, and we want to see which teams will continue to hold the cost to keep their playoff hopes alive.

In the West, several teams are close to the final playoff spots, making every game very important for these teams.

The Nashville Predators understood this when they picked up a big win yesterday against the mighty Dallas Stars.

They won 6-3 to earn two very important points in the standings.

Here’s what it looks like in the Western standings, when only two teams will be drafted (wild card).
