Pete Alonso is mourning the loss of his 2025 Series.

His club, the Mets, couldn't find a way to qualify. Worse still, he was shut out by the Miami Marlins in a game the club absolutely had to win to stay alive.

In short, there will be big questions this winter.

And one of them will be what kind of contract to give Alonso. Because yes, unsurprisingly, Scott Boras' client has announced his intention to opt out of his contract.

Last year, Alonso didn't get the contract he wanted. He signed a two-year deal, with an option to leave, simply to increase his value.

And he did.
