Will Bo Bichette be able to return in time for the playoffs? Who knows.
We know, of course, that his regular season is over, but we don't know if he'll be able to play the first game of the playoffs. It would help if he didn't have to play in the best-of-second series.
But now we learn that the Blue Jays shortstop is hitting again. John Schneider announced the news, mentioning that Bichette is with the club in Kansas City.
He's currently on schedule as the Blue Jays wanted to see him hit this week. #NotInGoodDirection
Bo Bichette started hitting today – starting his hopeful return for the playoffs:
“This was our initial goal, something like end of this week. Start doing some stuff and then see where the next week takes you and how aggressive you can be. So he was excited to start.” #BlueJays

Of course, there's still a long way to go. After all, he can't exactly start playing again without being able to run well. But right now, he's feeling better by the day.
So that's a good thing.
In an ideal world, he'd also have to be able to play defense, leaving the DH position to George Springer and/or Anthony Santander, who is also making good progress.
He won't be playing in Buffalo tonight, but he will (defensively) tomorrow and Sunday. After that, if all goes well, we might see him up there again.
Bo Bichette did some light hitting in the cage today, said Blue Jays manager John Schneider. Flips and tee work.
Anthony Santander is off tonight at triple-A Buffalo, will play OF next two days.

The current defensive lineup (with Andres Gimenez being excellent at shortstop and Ernie Clement at second cushion) is excellent. So if Bichette can just hit, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
To be continued.

- Yordan Alvarez is getting better.
Joe Espada on Yordan Alvarez: “He's feeling better. He was in there getting treatment, walking around without the boot. That's a step in the right direction. We're happy to see how quickly he's getting better.”
