Rem Pitlick traded to Blackhawks for (very) low price
Last August, Rem Pitlick was part of a monster deal. He was sent, along with Erik Karlsson, to the Penguins.

His stay in Pennsylvania didn’t last long, however, as exactly five months later, he changed addresses once again.

This time, he moved to the Blackhawks for a small fee…

In return, the Penguins acquired a conditional seventh-round pick in 2026. To say it was acquired for not much is an understatement…

In 2023-2024, he didn’t play a single NHL game. Since the start of the campaign, he’s been playing with the Wilkes-Barres/Scranton Penguins. There, he collected 24 points in 32 games.

In Chicago, he could benefit from more playing time due to the lack of depth in the offensive line-up. And with injuries to Connor Bedard and Nick Foligno, this is even more true.

Both forwards have been placed on the injured list. In Bedard’s case, he has a fractured jaw.

Like the Habs, the injury list is long in Chicago…

As for Pitlick, he’s under contract until July 1. Until then, he has a salary footprint of $1.1 million.

With this transaction, Pittsburgh now has nine draft picks in 2026.

Will the deal breathe new life into Pitlick’s career?
