Jonathan Huberdeau would like to make the Panthers pay dearly https://t.co/YtBrMWAmb5

Juraj Slafkovsky is clearly the flavor of the month for his inspiring performances, in which he creates space, using his physical strength, for the Caufield-Suzuki duo. In particular, Slaf ‘s presence makes this combination more menacing than it was accompanied by Kirby Dach.
Given Slaf‘s prowess and increasingly consistent play, Luc Gélinas is convinced that he will surpass Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki as the Habs’ top forwards. Gélinas made his case for the Habs’ giant forward via BPM Sports.
“In two years, Slafkovsky will be the Montreal Canadiens’ best forward.” – Gélinas
This morning on Les Gérants d’Estrade, Luc Gélinas stated that, in his opinion, Juraj Slafkovsky will be the Canadiens’ best forward in two years, ahead of Caufield and Suzuki.

Gélinas may not be in left field, but before he makes such a bold statement, time needs to paint its picture. At least, that’s what I think of this statement! Slaf still has just one assist in his last five games, Luc!
We’re talking about eight points in 30 games so far, which isn’t enough for a first overall pick… even if his play remains inspiring.
In fact, when Marc Dumont heard Gélinas’ statement, he couldn’t help but add his two cents. He gently called the veteran journalist to order, pointing out that there was no point in starting such a debate.
“Slafkovsky gets his first point in 8 games, and all of a sudden there has to be a debate about whether he’s better than Suzuki and Caufield at the same age. The improvements in Slafkovsky’s game have been quite encouraging, but there’s no need to start that internal debate. At all.” – Dumont

In short, it’s true that the idea of suggesting that Slaf will be better than the duo is impossible to say… No need to pit Slafkovsky against Caufield or Suzuki, as Dumont finally pointed out via a post.
I really don’t get the point of suggesting he’ll be better. Impossible to tell.
No need to pit Slafkovsky against Caufield or Suzuki.
Their strong play together is the real story.
And the results have been encouraging.
