Two points from Juraj Slafkovsky in a CH loss
Exactly one week ago, the Canadiens stunned the Bruins with an overtime win.

It was the Tricolore’s first win over their opponents since 2019.

A week later, the two teams were back in action, this time in Boston.

Here’s Martin St-Louis’s line-up, which has changed a few trios.

And Quebec’s Jim Montgomery.

The first period was dominated by the Boston Bruins.

They took a 2-0 lead thanks to a Charlie McAvoy goal on the power play.

And a Trent Frederic goal late in the period.

Boston finished the period with a total of 19 shots on goal.

This morning, Marc Antoine Godin rightly predicted the scenario in which Jake Allen would be left to his own devices.

In the second period, Boston got off to a good start against the disorganized Canadiens.

Pavel Zacha missed, but Allen was foiled by the puck’s change of direction.

A few minutes later, Juraj Slafkovsky gave the Habs hope with a goal from the slot.

It was his second goal of the season.

But Trent Frederic really hurt the CH moments later. He used his speed to score his second goal of the game.

4-1.

In the third period, fans on hand taunted opponents with chants of “Olé, Olé, Olé”.

These chants were heard in Montreal last week.

After a Bruins goal, Johnathan Kovacevic scored his second of the season. Juraj Slafkovsky picked up an assist on the net.

But it was too little too late.

The CH lost 5-2.

Martin St-Louis’ team now heads west. Their next game is Wednesday in Anaheim.

Overtime

– Rocket defeat.

– Nice day for the prospects.

– Puts things in perspective.

– The question arises.
