Pierre-Luc Dubois at his most sacred | Le Journal de Montréal https://t.co/eSzOY54B2v

It’s been known for some time that the Quebec center’s dream and goal is to play for the Montreal Canadiens.
Dubois’ agent, Pat Brisson, has made no secret of the fact that his client intends to play in Montreal in the near future.
Well, because if Dubois only wants to play in Montreal, he won’t sign a long contract extension with the Jets this summer, preferring instead to sign a one-year contract, which would make him an unrestricted free agent in 2024.
The Jets clearly don’t want to lose such a good player for nothing, so they’ll try to trade him if Dubois doesn’t want to sign for more than one year.
So the Jets find themselves in a situation where they’re somewhat obliged to discuss a possible transaction with the Habs.
One of those people willing to give the Jets the big bucks is Réjean Tremblay.
In fact, the journalist stated in one of his recent articles for the Journal de Montréal that he would be willing to sacrifice the CH’s first pick (if he doesn’t win the top-3 lottery), a young defenseman and another pick.
That’s a lot of money for a guy who could walk away for free in a year.
For Réjean Tremblay, we need to get Dubois as quickly as possible in order to sign him to a long-term contract.
If Kent Hughes is in favor of completing a deal with the Jets for Dubois, he won’t be giving up much considering he’s got the big end of the stick and could just wait a year.
What’s more, for those still not convinced that Dubois wants to play in Montreal, remember that in 2020, when the Quebecer was still playing with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dubois wanted to join the CH, and was eagerly awaiting a hostile offer from the Tricolore.

– Indeed.
If Rida goes out on loan to the USL, or CPL, I think that would be the best thing for him. And then come back a year from now. He needs to go and play a good full season as a cadre in a good caliber. @cfmontreal #cfmtl
