Linus Ullmark played the playoffs with a painful injury
Yesterday, against all odds, the Florida Panthers eliminated the Boston Bruins, the best team of the regular season.

Yes, Florida played well, but Boston also deserved to lose the series. They led the series 3-1, though…

One of the big stories was undoubtedly the performance of Linus Ullmark, by far the best goaltender in the NHL this season. The future Vézina winner’s poor playoff performances are explained. Indeed, the Swede played despite a very painful injury that limited his movement and technique.

The news was posted by Kevin Weekes.

So that’s one of the reasons why Jim Montgomery decided to go with his number 1.5 goaltender, Jeremy Swayman, in the final game, and why Ullmark posted an efficiency average of .896 and a goals-against average of 3.33 in six games.

Let’s see if his real injury comes to light and/or he undergoes surgery this summer.

What bothers me about this story is that he obviously didn’t say anything to his coaches, teammates or therapists. Maybe he knew that if he admitted his injury, he’d be left out in the cold. I understand that he wants to play, but if my hypothesis is true, it would really be a selfish move on his part. If his injury was so painful, how did no one see it? Didn’t anyone in the organization see him wince at some point?

It’s really strange.

In recent years, we’ve seen a lot of players who play with injuries and have surgery after the playoffs. Yes, their injuries are often major, but they’re still able to play at a high level.

Ullmark’s boo-boo was very painful and he wasn’t a shadow of his former self. That’s the difference…

In short, the Bruins dropped the ball … in all areas.
