There’s more to the story from the incident that occurred inside the Uber with Ottawa players. Chris Wideman fell into a hole after the incident but preserved and was able to climb his way back into the #NHL. pic.twitter.com/976nXP4kTn

It all happened in a cab (Uber), which is why the story was dubbed “Le Ubergate”.
Chris Wideman, the Canadiens’ current defenseman, was one of the main players in this saga. He and Matt Duchene were among those who talked a lot in the video in question, which was released to the public, and this, in one way or another, had an impact on Wideman’s career.
A few weeks after the video was published, Wideman was traded to Edmonton… And, less than two months later, he was traded again, this time to Florida.
The events of the 2018-2019 season certainly didn’t help Wideman’s cause, as he had to wait until July 28, 2021 before getting another chance to make his mark in the National League, in Montreal.
But here’s where it gets interesting…
When he says there were “other things said” at the time… But those things never saw the light of day.
All I can say is that it didn’t come out of my mouth. – Chris Wideman
Sure, we’d love to have access to the guys’ comments because it piques our curiosity.
After all, they hadn’t exactly been kind to Raymond… And, it seems like I don’t even want to imagine what they said about the others when you hear Wideman talking that way.
I imagine it wasn’t a pretty sight.
Because we know how much he’s appreciated in the CH dressing room.
The important thing is to see him admit that he did something “wrong”.

– 53 years old!
53 years ago today, Bobby Orr scored one of the most famous goals ever scored, in certainly the most famous photo in field hockey history.
Over the years, I’ve found that many diehard fans have never seen this photo in color.
