When you think of Snoop Dogg, you immediately think of a rather exuberant character. The Californian rapper, now 51, has no tongue in cheek, and he’s never afraid to state his love of cannabis loud and clear.
And clearly, we’re talking about someone who consumes it spectacularly (and even gives his name to certain products).
That said, for some time now, the rapper has been making news in the field hockey world as part of the group led by Neko Sparks to buy the Ottawa Senators. He’s always had an interest in sports (he’s a big fan of the Los Angeles Kings) and now he wants to be a (minority) team owner.
Unlike Ryan Reynolds, he has yet to become one of the team’s owners.
Snoop seems to be quite close to some of the players on the circuit. During a recent appearance on Mike Tyson’s podcast, he made an interesting statement:
I smoke (cannabis) with NHL players and MLB players, both during the season and after the season. It’s pretty wonderful. – Snoop Dogg

It’s important to remember that, unlike the NFL and NBA, the NHL and MLB don’t test players for cannabis use. So, it’s not illegal for players to consume during the season, so he’s not putting players in trouble by saying this.
On the other hand, it’s a statement worthy of the character. I imagine Kings players are involved considering his love for the club, but he obviously doesn’t name names.
I wonder, though, if the NHL likes to see him go on like this, considering that he may soon become a (minority) owner of the Senators. The league may not test players, but I don’t know if they like a statement like that coming out in the open.
Snoop Dogg with a shout out message on Instagram to the First Nation’s group that joined the Neko Sparks bid, confirming last night’s report, really cool stuff!

Clearly, then, this will be something to keep an eye on over the coming weeks, but clearly, this is quite a character who wants his piece of the pie in Ottawa. And I think he really means it, for what it’s worth.

– Jonathan Drouin’s name comes up again in Colorado.
Yes, everyone knows Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin were dynamic together a decade ago.
But could Drouin provide value to the Avalanche now?
I reached out to @MTLhockeynow to know more on Drouin, his recent play, and if he’d fit on the Avs.https://t.co/PF5YK5Uueu
