Sergei Bobrovsky has been inhuman for the past 7 games
Since Game 5 of their series against the Bruins, the Panthers have won 9 times and lost just once.

While Matthew Tkachuk has provided his team with the last two overtime victories and is the catalyst for their energy, the impact Sergei Bobrovsky has had on his club should certainly not be underestimated.

At the age of 34, the Russian goaltender is enjoying one of the most impressive playoff runs of recent years, shattering the record for goals saved since 2007, the year we started keeping track of them.

In his last seven games, Bobrovsky has accumulated numbers that have simply never been recorded.

He outshines several goalies who have made it to the finals, including Quick, Vasilevskiy, Khudobin and Rask. And if you count the 3-game periods, Jaroslav Halak makes an appearance on the list.

More than 18 goals saved in 7 games, that’s huge.

That’s impressive, especially considering how Sergei Bobrovsky hasn’t been getting the Panthers’ vote of confidence lately. He’s lost the net time and time again, to Chris Driedger, Spencer Knight and most recently, Alex Lyon. Aside from Game #4 against the Bruins, in which he allowed 5 goals on 30 shots, Bob was phenomenal.

Think about it… One game under .917, and six games over .936! In the last three games, Bobrovsky recorded efficiency rates of .962, .969 and .974!

That’s already 100 saves against the Hurricanes.

The former two-time Vezina Trophy winner hasn’t had it easy, despite his $10 million salary.

If the Panthers, who have the aura of a Stanley Cup contender, go all the way, it won’t be easy to decide the Conn-Smythe Trophy winner between Bobrovsky and Matthew Tkachuk.

– Backup for Halifax?

– Interesting.

– Didn’t Kyle Dubas want to do it?
