Potential meeting between the CH and Michkov: the Russian risks being shaken up
Manuel Sperandio-LemayThis will give us a good idea of what’s to come, and the future career of the young Russian prodigy.
However, until then, there’s still a long way to go in this matter, given that several teams will be meeting (usually for the first time) with Michkov next week before the draft.
That’s when teams interested in the Russian player will have a better idea of whether or not they intend to draft him.
It’s also known that Mishkov is refusing to talk to certain teams about where he’d like to play.
Unfortunately, we still don’t know the identity of the teams that will meet Michkov, other than the Philadelphia Flyers (according to recent rumours) and the Columbus Blue Jackets.
So, much to the dismay of CH fans, we still don’t know whether the Montreal Canadiens will meet the Russian prodigy.
It’s doubtful, however, that Kent Hughes and his team will do their duty, considering that the last we heard, Hughes had said he hadn’t yet spoken to Michkov.
And there’s talk of the CH “roughing up” Michkov in an interview to test him as they did with Shane Wright 👀 https://t.co/cX9oiYSRHg

We already know that the CH has a reputation for having the toughest and most unsettling interviews of any prospect (at the combine), so the interview with Michkov (if there is one) should be no exception – quite the contrary.
This would be the first (known) meeting between the Habs and Mishkov, so there’s no question of the CH being nicer to him than to the others.
The CH will want to know as much as possible about the youngster’s personality (an important element in the eyes of CH management, as demonstrated by the selection of Juraj Slafkovsky last summer), as well as his real intentions.
To date, rumours suggest that the Tricolore doesn’t want Michkov, but you never know, maybe it’s all just a smoke screen from Kent Hughes.

Oliver Moore: speed, edges, handling, and playmaking.
Insanely fast with great details. Handles and deceives with his feet moving. Uses changes of pace and edges to freeze opponents before accelerating. Leans into defenders before cutting back. Fakes one way, goes the other. pic.twitter.com/l8w2gm3OVY
