Adin Hill to sign two-year extension with Vegas

Many wondered what would happen with Adin Hill, who had an excellent playoff run but was set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Young Logan Thompson was expected to be the Vegas Golden Knights’ goaltender of the future, but the question was who would be the team’s second goaltender.

Few believed that Hill would extend his contract in Vegas, as he was asking for a salary of around $5 million.

Laurent Brossoit appeared to be a very economical option in front of the net, or even Jonathan Quick, but they are all due for a contract extension.

Hill seemed to be the most cost-effective option for Vegas, as Elliotte Friedman reports that the two sides have come to a mutual agreement.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it would be a two-year contract, with an annual salary of around $4.9 million.

Some other stuff today: sounds like Stanley Cup champion Adin Hill is looking at an extension in Vegas around the 2x$4.9M range. Nothing official yet, though.

If Vegas doesn’t get into financial trouble with this contract, I personally think it’s an excellent signing for the Knights.

They’re getting a veteran who performed very well in the playoffs and helped them win the Stanley Cup, to back up young Thompson.

However, questions are being raised about Robin Lehner, who missed all of last season due to injury. If he returns healthy next year, Vegas will have a choice to make, and Lehner may be on his way out, if they trust Thompson and Hill in front of goal.

Vegas will certainly have its work cut out for it this off-season. The Knights don’t have a second-round pick, and since they won the Stanley Cup, they have the very last pick of the first round, right after the CH pick.
