Connor McDavid has been by far the best player in the NHL for some years now.

Even if some field hockey fans don’t think he’s the best player on the team, the fact remains that no one has ever seen a player so electrifying with the puck. Game after game.

It’s not every day you see a highlight like that.

Only McDavid can sneak between four players, before taunting the goalie like that. And here, I’ve only shown you the first one that came to mind, but it’s full of such highlights.

For my part, I’m prepared to say that he’s the most talented player since Mario Lemieux.

After all, he’s just come off a 153-point, 64-goal season as a playmaker.

Unfortunately for number 97, he’s been slow to propel his team to the Stanley Cup Final.

Yet there’s no shortage of production from the Richmond Hill, Ontario native.

In 49 playoff games, he collected no fewer than 75 points.

That’s absolutely incredible.

Many skeptics are beginning to believe that McDavid is not a team player, and that his chances of winning a Stanley Cup seem rather slim.

However, Tampa Bay Lightning star Steven Stamkos believes it’s only a matter of time before McJesus wins the Cup.

Even though the Oilers’ attack is more than well-stocked, featuring three 100-point players (McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins), it doesn’t seem to be the winning solution.

At least Oilers fans can hope that Stuart Skinner can finally become the club’s goaltender of the future.

Even if the defensive brigade has made progress in recent years, there’s still one key piece missing if we’re to have any hope of a long playoff run.

As the saying goes, it’s defense that wins championships.

And the Vegas Golden Knights have demonstrated this very well with a magnificent playoff run, featuring an imposing defensive brigade with plenty of depth.

And that’s exactly what Kent Hughes and his team are trying to build. The addition of David Reinbacher, alongside Lane Hutson, Logan Mailloux, Kaiden Guhle and company, makes the future quite bright for the Tricolore. Not to mention Arber Xhekaj, Jordan Harris and Justin Barron.
