Gabriel Gagné: new accusation against former NHL hopeful | JDM https://t.co/VjEkFTNcbH

The name Gabriel Gagné may ring a bell. We’re talking about a former QMJHL player who was drafted in the second round (36th overall) by the Ottawa Senators, 2015.
We’re also talking about the man who was arrested on February 24, 2022 by Sûreté du Québec major crimes investigators, for a luring case.
Now the Quebecer, who hasn’t played professionally since the 2020-2021 season, finds himself in trouble again.
In a text by Erika Aubain (Journal de Montréal), we read that Gagné was sentenced to six months in prison for “harassing and threatening an ex-girlfriend for three years, notably with false accounts on social networks”.
The former Senators prospect pleaded guilty to charges of harassment and death threats last May. In the past, the Quebecer had also been accused of sexual assault in Montmagny and Trois-Rivières:
Let’s just say it puts an abrupt end to his field hockey career at the professional level. After all, it’s hard to believe that a team would want to be linked to its past… Which is normal.
On the ice, Gagné hasn’t had the success he’d hoped for following his selection in the 2015 draft.
The former Tigres and Cataractes team-mate in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League has to pay for the mistakes he made. It’s all part of the game.
It’s unfortunate in the sense that he was destined for a bright future after his junior internship. But what he did was unforgivable, and now he’s getting the blame. Just because you’re a field hockey player doesn’t mean you get a free pass, and his story is a fine example of that.
If it helps other young people to think twice before doing things like this… at least it will.

The Islanders lost out on Alex DeBrincat. But this isn’t another Panarin/Gaudreau type situation.
