I don’t know about you, but personally, I’m really looking forward to seeing Connor Bedard in action for the first time in the NHL. The most recent first-round draft pick is the most promising prospect on the circuit since Connor McDavid, and we expect his pro debut to be closely watched.
And the good news is that we won’t have to wait long to see him play his first game at the Bell Centre, when Bedard visits Montreal on October 14 for his third career game.
The problem, however, is that it will be quite expensive to get good tickets to see Bedard’s first appearance on Montreal soil: currently, the cheapest resale tickets in the reds cost a whopping $567.
And to get really good tickets, it’ll cost over $2,000: we’re talking $2,152.50 for a single ticket.
I want to believe that this is the Canadiens’ first home game, but it’s very, very expensive.

It is important to note that these are season tickets that are being resold. The CH will eventually sell individual tickets for the game, which will bring the price down a bit, but it’s still expensive.
What’s interesting is that tickets for Bedard’s first career game (in Pittsburgh) are currently much cheaper than those for his first game in Montreal. In fact, for a ticket to the Pittsburgh equivalent of the Reds, we’re talking $205 U.S., equivalent to $276.90 Canadian.
Again, it’s a home opener, but prices are cut in half and then some. There’s obviously a craze for Bedard in Montreal that’s not the same as elsewhere (perhaps because Montrealers thought they had him at the last draft and the club is rebuilding, which increases fan interest in young prospects?), and the propensity is pretty huge.

It’s to be expected that he’ll have to go through a bit of an adjustment phase, but if he scores his first career goal that night, the fans on hand will be able to boast that they’ve seen the first net of a player who is very likely to have a phenomenal career.
I don’t know if it’s worth more than $2,000 (or even $567), but hey.

– A great rookie season for the Yankees’ young shortstop.
And his 20th home run was a heroic one today.
