In less than an hour, the Canadiens will face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The goal?
To secure a seventh straight win against a team that has really, really struggled at home since the start of the season. The Rangers have a 12-18-7 home record this season: it's up to the Habs to capitalize on that.
That said, the Habs' recent success hasn't gone unnoticed by fans and various experts. For example?
In its recent ranking of the best NHL teams, Sportsnet places the Canadiens at… No. 4 on its list. The only teams ahead of the Habs are the Avalanche, the Sabres, and the Hurricanes.

Without making too much noise, the Canadiens are becoming an NHL powerhouse right before our eyes.
Everyone is contributing to the team's success right now: the goalies are doing their job (and that helps), the first line is firing on all cylinders, and the defense is keeping mistakes in their zone to a minimum.
It makes a world of difference. And you can really feel that the guys are all on the same page—aiming to finish the season strong to secure the best possible seed heading into the playoffs.
That said, it's crazy how fast the Canadiens are improving.
At the start of the season, people were talking about the Habs as a team with a shot at making the playoffs. Now, they're talking about the Habs as a team that could win its division… and might even go a long way in the postseason.
Good for the organization, then. But good, above all, for the team's fans… who have had a rough time in recent years watching the team rack up losses on the ice.
In a nutshell
– That's for sure.

26 goals in his last 26 games. Does anyone know if that's a good average?
