The Canadiens won another big game last night against the Lightning.

Nine other games were on the schedule.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Jacob Markstrom and Igor Shesterkin go head-to-head

In New York, in a matchup between the bottom-ranked Rangers and Devils, a battle of the goalies took place.

Igor Shesterkin and Jacob Markstrom dropped the gloves.

This is already the third goalie fight this season. Andrei Vasilevskiy and Jeremy Swayman had dropped the gloves on the road, and Sergei Bobrovsky and Alex Nedeljkovic were the participants in the other fight.

It's rare to see Shesterkin this happy.

In fact, he was solid in net, stopping 22 of the 23 shots he faced.

New York won the game 4-1.

Adam Fox, meanwhile, finished with two assists.

2. Another convincing win for the Penguins

The Penguins keep winning and are getting all their injured players back.

Sidney Crosby returned to action the day before yesterday, and yesterday, Evgeni Malkin made his return. Pittsburgh won 5-1.

The Russian recorded an assist in the win.

Anthony Mantha, meanwhile, continues to produce. He scored his 30th goal of the season.

The Pennsylvania club is now firmly in second place in the Metropolitan Division.

They are three points ahead of the Islanders (third in the division) and six points ahead of the ninth-place team in the East.

The day before yesterday, in an 8-3 win over the Islanders, Egor Chinakhov was the only forward not to record a point. Yesterday, he was his team's leading scorer with a goal and an assist.

3. Another 30-goal season for Alex Ovechkin

Alex Ovechkin now has 20 seasons with 30 or more goals.

Yesterday, he scored two goals, reaching that milestone.

The Capitals ultimately won the game 6-4 against the Flyers.

Washington is now just three points away from the playoffs. The standings in the East are crazy:

With the Jackets, Sens, and Red Wings all losing, Philadelphia missed a great opportunity to close in on the playoffs.

It's not like Trevor Zegras didn't try…

4. Five first-period goals for the Panthers

The Senators were playing another crucial game in the race for the playoffs.

They were facing a team with nothing left to lose, the Panthers. The Panthers scored five goals in the first period, including two on their first two shots.

Let's just say that after the fifth goal, Linus Ullmark knew it was going to be a long night.

Ottawa ultimately lost 6-3.

The Sens are still two points out of the playoffs and face the eighth-toughest schedule remaining through the end of the season.

Their playoff chances are dwindling by the day…

In the Florida victory, Matthew Tkachuk led the charge with a goal and three assists.

Seth Jones (three assists) and Carter Verhaeghe (two goals and one assist) didn't do too shabby either.

5. The Jets are one point away from the playoffs

While Alex Ovechkin scored his 31st goal of the season—and earlier in the evening had reached the 30-goal mark for the 20th time in his career—Anton Frondell scored his first NHL goal.

His first—and clearly not his last.

However, it was the Jets who won in overtime thanks to Kyle Connor.

Winnipeg is now just two points away from the playoffs.

After a slow start to the season, the Canadian club has turned things around. They are 4-1-1 in their last six games.

In the Hawks' loss, Tyler Bertuzzi scored the other two goals.

Midway through the third period, he scored his second goal of the game to force overtime.
