Top 5: Anze Kopitar Becomes the Kings’ All-Time Leading Scorer

In addition to the Montreal Canadiens' frustrating loss to the San Jose Sharks, there were 13 other games in the National Hockey League. There were plenty of highlights to watch. Here's a recap. 1. Anze Kopitar at the top
At the start of the season, Los Angeles Kings captain Anze Kopitar announced that the 2025–2026 campaign would be his final season in the NHL.
At 38 years old, Kopitar is in his 20th season and has therefore decided to end his career. The best part of all this is that with 30 points this season, the Kings' #11 would become the all-time leading scorer in Kings history, surpassing Marcel Dionne.
Well, last night, in a 6-4 loss by the Kings to the New Jersey Devils, Kopitar scored two goals to surpass Dionne by recording his 1,308th point.

This is quite an achievement for Kopitar, an exceptional player who will always be remembered in Los Angeles and throughout the NHL.

2. Most of the Habs' rivals have won The race for the playoffs and the top three spots in the divisions is very intense in the Eastern Conference, and with this loss, the Habs have seen several of their rivals pick up points and close the gap in the standings. Here are the rival wins that impact the Habs:
The Ottawa Senators defeated the Anaheim Ducks 2-0. The Boston Bruins beat the Washington Capitals 3-2 in a shootout.
The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 in a shootout. The Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Philadelphia Flyers 2-1 in a shootout. Fortunately, two teams directly linked to the Habs lost:
The Tampa Bay Lightning lost 4-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes. The Detroit Red Wings lost 3-2 in overtime to the Dallas Stars. Here is how the standings in the East look now.

3. Five shots off the posts in the shootout In the Bruins' shootout victory over the Caps, no single player really stood out; instead, it was the posts on both ends that stole the show. In fact, we saw five shots hit the posts during this nine-round shootout.

In the end, the Bruins came out on top thanks to Fraser Minten.

4. Connor Bedard Doesn't Let Anyone Push Him Around We're getting to know Connor Bedard better and better as he enters his third NHL season, and we're realizing that, in addition to his immense talent, he has a strong personality and doesn't let anyone push him around.
Last night, in a 4-0 loss by the Chicago Blackhawks to the Vegas Golden Knights, Bedard showed all his grit and intensity during a scuffle in front of the net with Kaedan Korczak.

This isn't the first time we've seen this; we're reminded of that Bedard game against the Montreal Canadiens earlier this year.

5. McMann Already Has Two Goals with the Kraken
The Toronto Maple Leafs traded away a few players at the trade deadline, including a certain Bobby McMann. The undrafted forward had made a name for himself with the Leafs with two strong seasons, including one with 20 goals, and now he's been traded to the Seattle Kraken.
And in his first game, McMann recorded three points, including two goals, bringing his season totals to 21 goals and 35 points in 61 games.

At 29, McMann is a solid depth player whom the Leafs have decided to trade.
