The Montreal Canadiens picked up two huge points last night at the Bell Centre, thanks to a great win over the Washington Capitals, an opponent the Habs have struggled against recently.

The Habs found a way to take a comfortable lead by being very opportunistic, which led to this magnificent 6-2 win.

However, the final score could have been very different if it hadn't been for Jakub Dobes' brilliant performance in front of the CH net.

Having not played since February 2, Dobes could have appeared rusty or even nervous, but he proved quite the opposite, playing very solidly and steadily in front of his net.

The Habs' #75 was excellent, turning away several good scoring chances by the Caps to keep his team comfortable with their lead.

In the end, once again, Dobes continues to win games and help the Habs rack up points, as evidenced by his 9-0-2 record in his last 11 games and 19-5-4 record this season.

In fact, Dobes hasn't lost a game since December 9, so for almost three months.

This record clearly gives the Tricolore goalie confidence, but it also gives the whole team confidence.

The guys aren't playing with the worry of their goalie performing poorly, because he has proven that he wins games.

In short, with such a performance coming back from the Olympic break, there's no doubt that Dobes is the #1 goalie, and he should remain so until proven otherwise.

Dobes must be Martin St-Louis's go-to guy ahead of Samuel Montembeault, because he wins games, which is far from often the case with Monty.

In short, Dobes is ahead of Montembeault, and that needs to remain the case to give the Canadiens the best chance of finishing the season on a high note and securing their place in the playoffs.

Now, what else did I take away from this game?

1. Cole Caufield is truly Mr. Saturday Night.

Once again, Caufield found a way to score goals easily and be decisive in a Saturday game.

The Habs' #13 could easily have had five goals last night if it hadn't been for some great saves by Charlie Lindgren, the former Habs player.

With 35 goals in 59 games, Caufield is tied for second in the NHL in scoring with Connor McDavid and Matt Boldy.

2. Zachary Bolduc had a very good game.

The Quebec native may have only earned a single assist, but he still played very well, getting physically involved throughout the game.

He even generated some nice plays offensively, as he started the play on Caufield's second goal by recovering the puck deep in the zone and passing it to Jayden Struble at the blue line.

In short, I think the Quebec native has secured his spot in the lineup for the next game.

3. Nick Suzuki had three points without really being noticed.

As usual, the captain was very discreet, but still finished the night as the game's top scorer with three points.

Suzuki now has 68 points in 59 games, ranking him 11th among the NHL's top scorers. 4. What a beautiful shot by Kirby Dach.

The #77 pulled a rabbit out of his hat last night, which probably surprised the entire Quebec region, as we've never seen anything like this from Dach before.

Things have been going well for Dach since his return to the game, and hopefully that will continue.

Next week, the Canadiens will be on the road in the West for three games, starting with the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday at 10 p.m.
