For fans and players invited to represent their country at the Olympic Games, it's an incredible event.

But for others (uninvited players, among others), it's not all positive. In any case, Canadiens defenseman Alexandre Carrier “finds it long,” this Olympic break.

That's what he told Kevin Dubé of TVA Sports.

He had a great time with his family in the south, but after getting his fill of vitamin D for a week, the Quebec native is eager to get back in the action.

The first week was good for the body, but now I'm excited to get back to it. It's time to start again. At least we're having a good time with the family. – Alexandre Carrier (TVA Sports)

Make no mistake, he is not among those who don't want to see NHL players at the Olympics, but he is disappointed that the NHL schedule has been put on hold, as Montreal was on a roll before the break.

At least guys like Ivan Demidov, Mike Matheson, Noah Dobson, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson will be able to rest.

Guys like Cole, Lane, and Demidov, since the Russians aren't here, have been able to enjoy some physical and mental rest. – Alexandre Carrier

In the case of Nick Suzuki, Juraj Slafkovsky, Oliver Kapanen, and Alex Texier, no, they won't have been able to rest, but their first Olympic experience (except for Slaf) will do them a world of good.

The Canadiens and Carrier will play their next game in 11 days, on February 26 against the New York Islanders. The last 25 games of the season will be very important in this frantic race for the playoffs.

A gold medal and a Stanley Cup for Nick Suzuki…

Imagine that.

In brief

– Denmark wins, finishing third in Group C.

– We wish him a speedy recovery.

— Good for them.

Pierre Crinon had been suspended earlier this season for a deplorable gesture 🫣https://t.co/gFCS3Y386P

– His only chance of winning a Super Bowl is if he were a backup quarterback.

— Well done.
