So far, the men's hockey tournament at the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy, has provided us with some very good hockey games.
We expected some one-sided games, but in the end, Italy and France have surprised us with strong performances.
Another pleasant surprise so far is Slovakia, which, although expected to be a good team, was not considered a favorite in its group with Finland and Sweden.
But in the end, Slovakia is at the top of its group for now, and that's largely thanks to Juraj Slafkovsky.
In fact, the Montreal Canadiens forward scored his third goal of the tournament this morning with a superb one-timer midway through the first period to tie the game against Sweden.

This goal once again demonstrates the confidence that Slafkovsky currently possesses as he masterfully leads his country.
For Slaf, it's already his tenth career goal at the Olympic Games, and that's in just ten games.
He is only the fourth player in history to reach this milestone before the age of 22, and the first since the 1948 Games.
10 goals at the Olympic Games before the age of 22
Hooley Smith, CAN: 17 (1924 Games)
Bruce Mather, USA: 16 (1948 Games)
Dave Trottier, CAN: 12 (1928 Games)
Juraj Slafkovsky, SVK: 10 (2022 and 2026 Games)— Guillaume Villemaire (@GVillemaire13) February 14, 2026
This is quite an achievement for the habs' #20, who still has plenty of time ahead of him to dominate at the Olympic level, having already racked up five points, including three goals, in two games and two periods in this tournament alone.
The Slovakian is having another excellent game, and we'll see if that will allow Slovakia to win a third game at these Olympic Games.
For now, Sweden leads 3-2 midway through the third period.
Overtime
– Terrible news for Kevin Fiala, Switzerland, and the Los Angeles Kings.
One update from last night: Kevin Fiala is having surgery this morning in Italy.
No clarity yet on the exact injury, but unfortunately, it will be season-ending. All the best to him in his recovery.
