This morning, a few Canadiens players took to the ice in Brossard.

Among them?

Ivan Demidov, Kirby Dach, and Jake Evans decided to stretch their legs… and David Savard played goalie for the guys once again. Remember that the former habs defenseman has been wearing his goalie gear in recent days to help Alex Newhook, who is continuing his rehabilitation in order to return to play.

Mike Matheson was also part of the group… and since things were pretty quiet, he decided to take to the ice with a surprise guest.

Who was it?

The defenseman— who should perhaps have been participating in the Olympics —was with his little boy, and it made for some pretty cute moments. The youngster is good, too:

The guys are having fun.

The timing is good because several NHL players are at the Olympics… and if you're going to jump on the ice, you might as well find a way to have fun—while remaining relatively serious.

Let's not forget, though, that this is the third day in a row that we've seen Demidov on the ice in Brossard. He's like Lane Hutson: he lives and breathes hockey.

Speaking of Lane, I wonder how he's doing… and I wonder what his vacation has been like since the Olympic break began. We know he returned to the United States to see his family and that he planned to practice anyway.

I have a feeling we might see him in Brossard early next week.

Especially since Demidov is already back from Florida and we know how much the two guys enjoy practicing together.

Overtime

– Okay. That was quick.

– This is going to be good!

– Trade in Toronto.
