Oliver Kapanen and Finland faced off against Sweden today in Milan.
Reminder: these two countries have hated each other for a long time, and there's a great rivalry between the two clubs on the ice. You could feel it in the game, too, because there wasa lot ofintensityonthe ice.
In the end, it was the Finns who were able to win the game 4-1. Joel Armia lit up the scoreboard, scoring a shorthanded goal.
A solid performance by the Finns, who didn't give the Swedes a chance!

Canadiens fans were keeping an eye on forward Oliver Kapanen, who was left out of Finland's lineup yesterday against Slovakia.
But…
But those who wanted to see Kapanen must have found the game long.
The forward didn't take a single shift on the ice and was benched for the entire game. He doesn't play a big role on the team, and as the club's 13th forward, it seems that Finland is doing things a little differently.
As for Kapanen, from memory, Finland's 13th forward also stayed at the end of the bench during the World Junior Championship. That's just how the Finns do things.

It's unfortunate for him, honestly.
Like any other player, Kapanen would like to be able to help his club because we're talking about the Olympics, after all. Of course, he's happy to be in Milan to enjoy the experience… but at the same time, he would definitely like to be able to play and enjoy the experience properly.
Tomorrow, Finland will face Italy in a late morning game. Maybe Kapanen will get a chance to prove himself, given that Italy is one of the weakest teams in the competition…
That would be nice for him, at least.
In closing… did you miss the Finland vs. Sweden game?

The White Sox GM didn't even know the centerpiece of the trade, Luis Robert.
