Before the Olympic tournament, Juraj Slafkovsky had a specific goal in mind.
He wanted to go to Milan and be one of Slovakia's leaders at the Games. And yesterday, in his first game of the tournament, that's exactly what he did.
The tall forward shone in his team's victory over Finland with three points (two goals). He was his club's best player, and it seems like people hadforgotten thathe was performing at this level in the NHL before flying to Italy…
Yesterday Olympic Slaf returned, but it appears like some people have no clue how elite he was playing the last 2 months heading into the Olympics.

That said, Slaf and Slovakia were playing their second game in as many days today.
His club faced Italy… and the Canadiens player stood out (again). He assisted on Slovakia's first goal and now has four points in just two games:

That's what we usually want to see from a star player.
These guys are able to step up their game in the big moments… and that's exactly what Slaf has been doing since the start of the tournament.
That's great news in itself because it will certainly help him gain even more confidence. He'll realize that he can dominate a game if he plays the right way, and for the Canadiens, that's exciting for the future.
And it's even more special to see him play right now because you realize how much better he's getting every day. It's crazy how differently he plays compared to his first year in the National Hockey League… and his progress is clearly happening at a really fast pace right now.
So that's great. For him, for the Canadiens… but also for the Montreal team's fans.
Overtime
– Good point.
