The defensive lineup of the Canadian hockey team for the Olympics continues to be a topic of discussion.
Bruno Gervais, an analyst at RDS, didn't go that far, but he did question some of the defensive choices.

In his opinion, Mike Matheson could have earned a spot on the team. Gervais believes that the selection was influenced by performances at the 4 Nations Tournament, even though other defensemen had been playing better recently.
He adds that Matheson's mobility could have served Canada well at key moments.
Personally, I think Matheson is doing a great job for the habs this season. He could have been part of the team, but I don't think it's a scandal, especially on the left side.
Devon Toews is an excellent complement to Cale Makar, and chemistry remains an important factor in a short tournament. Josh Morrissey and Shea Theodore have proven themselves, and Thomas Harley is making excellent progress.
If he were right-handed, Matheson might have been able to take Drew Doughty's place. Once again, the Maple Leafs preferred the experience of the Kings veteran over a player like Noah Dobson.
This will definitely not be the most talented defensive unit Canada has ever sent to the Olympics, but if the chemistry clicks, the players will get the job done defensively. My concern is more on the offensive side. A player like Evan Bouchard, even in a more limited role, could have been a valuable asset, especially on a second powerplay unit.
Ultimately, it's the team itself that will provide the answers on the ice. And it all starts on Thursday. Finally!
