Jacob Fowler has been selected to participate in the American Hockey League All-Star Game.
It's well deserved… since the goalie is having a great season with the Laval Rocket.
But there's some bad news: Fowler is injured and won't be able to take part in the skills competition (which takes place tonight). He'll also have to miss the game itself, which will be played tomorrow…
That's what the Rocket announced in a post on X.
The club mentioned in the post that Fowler has an upper-body injury but will remain on the bench for both events. He'll be there… but he won't be able to jump on the ice to entertain the fans.
Goaltender Jacob Fowler (upper-body injury) will not participate in the Skills Competition (tonight) or the All-Star Game (tomorrow). He will remain on the bench during both events.

Obviously, it's disappointing for him.
He really deserved to be able to show off his skills during the All-Star festivities… but we all agree that his health must come first.
That said, this news comes after Fowler played in the Rocket's last seven games. And those seven games were played in the span of just 15 days…
The kid has played more than enough in the last two weeks, to put it another way. And seeing him miss the All-Star Game activities may be good news in itself for the Rocket and the Montreal Canadiens organization…
Better luck next time, then.
But it makes you wonder if there really will be a next time, given how quickly the goalie is progressing.
Maybe next time it will be at the NHL All-Star Game… Hehe.
