Alex Ovechkin: KHL president will talk to him this summer to see if he wants to play in Russia
Alex Ovechkin has accomplished almost everything in the NHL.
He's won the Stanley Cup, he has countless Maurice Richard Trophies, he has Hart Trophies, he's won the Calder Trophy, he has… You get the idea.
The Capitals sniperhas even managed to break Wayne Gretzky's record for most career goals in the National Hockey League. And while he has scored 919 goals since the start of his career, we're all asking the same question: will he reach 1,000?
That said, Ovi is 40 years old and in the final year of his contract with the Capitals. There are rumors that he will be heading to Russia this summer… and on that subject, the president of the KHL said openly in an interview that he wants to talk to Ovechkin this summer to see what he wants to do next.
That's a big deal. Because let's face it: the KHL would be really happy to welcome Ovechkin, even if he's at the end of his career.
The league would welcome him with open arms, even…
KHL President says league plans to discuss future plans with Alex Ovechkin in the summer: “If he decides to continue his career in the KHL, we'll be delighted.” https://t.co/5BZNbY75B7

The decision will be up to #8.
If he wants to continue his career in the National Hockey League by signing a short-term contract, the Capitals will probably be happy. There's a good club in Washington, and even if Ovi is slowing down, he's still capable of making an impact on the ice.
The guy still has 48 points (22 goals) in 59 games since the start of the season. And he's one of only three Caps players to have played in every game for the club in 25-26.
Not bad for someone who celebrated his 40th birthday last September…
I can't wait to see how this all plays out. Alex Ovechkin is one of the greats in NHL history, and if he were to retire, he would have had quite a career in North America.
But we know he would like to finish his career in Russia, close to home. And that's what leads me to believe that we may be seeing the player's last moments in the National Hockey League…
Let's enjoy it while we can!
Overtime
– Bang.
A thunderous hit by former Hab Christian Folin in today's SHL action. In the NHL, Folin would have had to fight at least three guys. In the land of Chicken Swedes, you absorb the hit and play on. The times they are a changin' https://t.co/QeQqGj98hL

– Wow!
According to my sources, Charles-Émile Brunet will be making the jump directly from the NCAA to MLS this season, with Nashville SC.
His first official photos confirm this.
He will wear the number 12 jersey.
His contract should be announced shortly, I'm told.
So there will be… pic.twitter.com/iVz7PJEs8i

Isiah Kiner-Falefa would have been better off keeping his mouth shut on this one. https://t.co/1cd6NAUwDl
