Gavin McKenna: his hearing could coincide with an important game

We all know the story of Gavin McKenna.

The college player, expected to be selected high in the upcoming NHL draft, has been charged in connection with an incident that allegedly occurred in recent weeks.

Although the charges of aggravated assault have been dropped, he recently pleaded not guilty to a charge of simple assault. He is also charged with harassment and disturbing the peace, to which he has also pleaded not guilty.

He will inevitably have to appear in court soon. It was supposed to be on Wednesday, but it has been postponed until March 11.

That said, according to a report by TVA Sports, it is very possible that it will take place on the day of a potentially important game for Penn State: March 11. That is the start of the Big Ten, the end-of-season university tournament.

Obviously, the courts don't really care about the guy's hockey tournament. It's probably not the #1 priority for the people in charge of scheduling his hearing.

But we can all agree that it would cause a lot of fuss if he had to miss such an important game (provided his club is eligible, of course) to face justice.

I can't wait to see how much this case will negatively influence NHL teams when it comes time to evaluate the young man for the June draft. The Hawks already didn't think highly of him, and this ongoing case isn't helping.

I imagine the Hawks aren't the only team in this situation.

– Oh yeah?

– Interesting.

– Canada did not practice in front of thecameras.

– Makes sense.

– Note.
