Jordan Kyrou is a name that has been the talk of Montreal for quite some time.

After all, he has a very interesting profile: he would solidify the top six on offense, he can score a good 65-70 points per season and around 30 goals. In addition, he is very responsible defensively (and only 27 years old). He is primarily a right winger, but he can also play center if needed.

In short, he seems like the perfect candidate for the Montreal Canadiens.

Several experts saw him as a very good fit in Montreal, as Nicolas Cloutier recently mentioned in an article on TVA Sports.

However, Grant McCagg doesn't think the same way about Kyrou at all.

The founder of the Recrutes and Habscast podcast believes that he would be a poor fit for the habs.

Interesting.

It should be noted that Kyrou has a full no-trade clause. So, Kyrou would first have to be willing to move to Montreal.

He could very well complete the first line, but for now, Kirby Dach is doing very well on that line. Otherwise, he could be the second center, but do we really want to break up the second line and remove Oliver Kapanen from it? And that's not to mention the price it will cost to acquire him.

Kyrou is currently in the third year of his eight-year contract, earning $8.125 million per season. That's not a bad contract at all for what he brings to the table. Nevertheless , according to Puck Pedia, the Habs have less than $1 million in cap space. That means someone like Patrik Laine would have to go the other way.

That means it would cost the Habs even more, because Laine's salary is a big factor.

Is it really worth breaking up the second line or moving Dach from the first line to play him in Montreal? I don't think so.

Let's see what Kent Hughes does between now and the trade deadline.

Overtime

– It doesn't really seem like this is his seventh consecutive start. The Rocket finally won 4-1, and Fowler stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced.

– In your opinion, if we were to redo the 2023 draft, would David Reinbacher be in the top 15?

– I would take seat 4B. Seth Jarvis seems like a very funny person.

– The Canadian women's team's first goal at the Olympics. The Canadians won 4-0 against Switzerland.

– Sad news…
