We saw Marc-André Fleury practice twice in less than a week with the Wild last week… even though he hadn't put on his gear in a long time.

And basically, it was normal to wonder why that was the case.

Perhaps we have the answer to those questions today…

In fact, Frank Seravalli said something interesting on Kevin Karius' show. The insideropenedthe door to Fleury's return to the National Hockey League… but on one condition.

Seravalli floated the idea of Fleury coming out of retirement if the Wild trade Jesper Wallstedt before the trade deadline. We know that this possibility is on the table in Minnesota, as the Wild would like to pick up a center or winger who can play on the team's top six.

Hmm…

There's no smoke without fire, as they say.

And I tend to believe that Marc-Andre Fleury is well aware that the idea of the Wild making room for him is also out there. I find it hard to believe that he practiced twice in just a few days just because he wanted to put on his pads.

It seems like there's something we don't know…

Obviously, it would be crazy to see Fleury return to the game.

We know he's well-liked in the National Hockey League and that his reputation is well established. It would make for a great story, at least… and everyone would definitely be behind him to cheer him on.

I'd love to see that scenario play out. And I won't fall off my chair if it happens… because we know that Marc-André Fleury loves the game, even if he says his body is worn out.

Overtime

– Good luck!

– Come on!

– The opposite would have been surprising.
