Artemi Panarin is a member of the Los Angeles Kings.

That sounds a little strange, doesn't it? But the forward was determined to play there, and the Rangers granted his wish. The Russian then signed a two-year, $11 million contract extension to secure his short-term future in California.

But…

But according to Elliotte Friedman, the Seattle Kraken also had an offer on the table for Panarin—and they were prepared to give him a four-year contract extension at a higher salary than Leon Draisaitl.

Need I remind you that… the Edmonton Oilers star player earns $14 million a year? That means the Kraken were really going all in on this deal… and that Panarin left a lot of money on the table to join the Kings.

More details to come…
