Last night (Tuesday), MLB Network's Top 10 Right Now rankings continued to roll out, this time with a look at the right field position.
Unsurprisingly, New York Yankees captain and reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge was ranked first for the second consecutive year and third time in the last four seasons. Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves had interrupted Judge's reign in 2024.
Speaking of good old Ronald, he comes in fifth at the dawn of 2026, just behind Corbin Carrol. Juan Soto and Kyle Tucker round out the top five in second and third place, respectively.
“Even with this group, and we're talking Soto, Tucker and Acuña, this is clear-cut…”

Tucker's third place is a step back for him, as he was ranked second among right fielders heading into the 2025 and 2024 seasons. That was an improvement over his fourth place finish in 2023.
A step back, yes, but there's also the fact that he's the highest-paid player at that position, earning $60 million per year for the next four seasons, but he's not at the top of the list. That's a lot of money for a right fielder, especially compared to Judge, who commands a salary of $40 million per season.

The 29-year-old will have to bounce back and justify the astronomical sum that the Los Angeles Dodgers have awarded him after a disappointing stint with the Chicago Cubs. He had a batting average of .280 with 19 doubles, four triples, 17 home runs, and 56 RBIs in his first 95 games before a left hand injury slowed him down.
The MLB Network rankings classify players by evaluating past performance, offensive and defensive metrics, including advanced statistics and traditional numbers, as well as analysis by the network's research team.
