Last week, the Canadiens announced that Marco Marciano was the new goalie coach for the habs.

That said, everyone quickly made the following connection: if Éric Raymond has been replaced by Samuel Montembeault and Jakub Dobes, who will work with the goalies downstairs?

Reminder: Jacob Fowler is an important project for the organization.

A week later, we have to admit that there has been radio silence on the matter. Perhaps the Rocket is close to an announcement, but nothing has been made public.

During last week's games in Syracuse and Toronto, the Rocket did not officially have a goalie coach on site. It will likely be the same tonight in Laval.

But that could change soon. As we mentioned recently, it's clear that Marco Marciano is putting in long hours these days. And we expect to see the goaltending coach head to Laval during the Olympic break.

Eric Engels talked about it on the Sick Podcast: according to him, Marciano will be working with Fowler while the Canadiens are on vacation.

That makes sense, of course.

It should be noted that, in the short term, the Rocket will play its next five games at home. Marciano is currently in Winnipeg, but it would make sense for him to be in Laval for the weekend games.

It makes sense that the Rocketisn't rushingthe decision on the goaltending coach, but when the Canadiens' goalies return from vacation, Marciano will need to have a counterpart in Laval. It would be easier for everyone.

This is a story to follow.
