The Habs lost a big game on Monday in Minnesota.

Tonight in Winnipeg, it was their last game before the Olympic break.

Here are the lineups:

The Jets dominated the first period, but it ended in a 1-1 tie.

Lucky Samuel Montembeault, with his new mask, was there.

At the end of the period, Oliver Kapanen brought everyone back to square one.

Noah Dobson and Juraj Slafkovsky got the assists.

In the second period, the visitors woke up.

First, Josh Anderson, in his 400th NHL game, skillfully deflected Jayden Struble's shot.

Then he fed Lane Hutson later on.

What a goal!

As in the first period, Monty took care of the defense.

Brendan Gallagher continued his hot streak.

His third point of the night was the insurance goal.

What a streak he's on!

Phillip Danault scored a fifth goal into an empty net. Thanks to the official.

Final score: 5-1. Gally did well, but what about Monty, who stopped 36 of the 37 shots he faced. A great win before the break!

On February 26, Martin St-Louis's team will be back in action. That's a whopping 22 days off for the players, except for Nick Suzuki, Alexandre Texier (if he goes to the Olympics), Oliver Kapanen, and Juraj Slafkovsky, who will be representing their countries.

Overtime

– Oliver Kapanen loses a skate blade.

– A mistake by Connor Hellebuyck.

– Indeed.
