Big— HUGE — news involving Gavin McKenna.
And the person involved is in trouble.
According to Onward State, the player considered to be the #1 pick in the upcoming draft has been charged following an altercation on Saturday night. And…
The State College Police Department has charged McKenna with aggravated assault with “attempted grievous bodily harm or bodily harm with extreme recklessness,” simple assault, and two counts of disorderly conduct.
McKenna allegedly assaulted an unidentified person and fractured their jaw. This is not good news for him… and it will certainly damage his reputation ahead of the upcoming draft.
What was he thinking?

At this time, Penn State University has not yet commented on the situation.
McKenna is in hot water… according to Onward State, McKenna could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the charges against him.
Obviously, we'll have to keep an eye on this case in the coming hours and days because things could move quickly.
That said… we don't see this often in the world of sports—especially in the NHL—and the news is certainly causing a stir right now. We're talking about one of the best prospects in the world of hockey, and he's been talked about for a long time as the next star of the National League.
I can't wait to see how it all plays out.
In fact… I'm especially eager to see what happens next with this young player. It's a shame, because he was having a great first season in the NCAA and had been on fire since returning from the World Junior Championship.
