Last summer, Jonathan Drouin signed a two-year contract ($4 million per season) with the New York Islanders.

He had spent the previous two seasons in Colorado and seemed to have rediscovered his touch after some difficult years in Montreal.

Drouin still racked up 56 points (in 79 games) and 37 points (in 43 games) during his two seasons with the Avalanche…

Except that for now, it can't be said that he's having a good time on Long Island. Not really, in fact… since the Québécois has collected only one assist in his last 12 games.

Oh, and he hasn't scored since November 14. It's been almost three months since he last found the back of the net, and for an offensive player like him, even though he's never been a huge scorer in the National Hockey League… it's far from ideal.

Jonathan Drouin currently plays second center for the Islanders.

He plays with Emil Heineman and Simon Holmstrom… but even though Patrick Roy has given him an important role, the Québécois has been unable to break out of his slump.

Drouin is really going through a rough patch. His coach is trying to revive him by playing him on the top six, but it's not working…

I wonder if Patrick Roy will decide to intervene with his player to send him a message. Drouin has only 20 points (three goals) in 48 games this season with the Islanders, and we would certainly have liked to see him produce more within the organization.

Especially after his two great years in Colorado.

Will things turn around for him? Only time will tell.

But… right now, it seems to be (more than) difficult for him, and it's going to start becoming a problem if it continues this way.

Overtime

– Big news for the Alouettes.
