Jakub Dobes is on fire.
The goalie was excellent AGAIN in front of the net last night against the Sabres: that makes eight wins in his last nine starts.
And the game he lost was in a shootout against the Pittsburgh Penguins…
The Canadiens need to take advantage of Doby's hot streak and keep him in the lineup. Tomorrow, the Habs will be in Minnesota to face the Wild… who are currently ranked second in the National League standings.
Dobes should play tomorrow, not Montembeault. Against such a dominant team right now (which has just racked up three straight wins), you have to send in the goalie who's hot.
And right now, that's Dobes.

It's obviously disappointing for Montembeault… but Dobes deserves the opportunity to play against the Wild.
After all, he just beat three excellent clubs in the last week. Dobes was on fire against the Golden Knights, he played very well against the Avalanche… and last night, he may have played his best game of the season in Buffalo.
Wins against the Knights, the Avalanche, and the Sabres… that's pretty impressive. And he had good numbers all week long:

Things have been working out for Jakub Dobes lately.
He looked more solid in net this week and managed to pick up some very important wins for his club. Without him, the habs probably wouldn't have won on Tuesday or yesterday…
Martin St-Louis has a decision to make, but if I were the Canadiens' head coach, the decision would be easy in my eyes.
Worst case scenario, Monty will play on Wednesday against Winnipeg. The Jets aren't having a great season, and it would be a great opportunity for him to put in a big performance and regain his confidence before heading off on vacation for the Olympic break.
That's what I would do. And I'm sure many of you would do the same…
Overtime
– Well done.
The Habs were 70.2% on faceoffs vs. the Sabres' 29.8% last night:
• Nick Suzuki: 8-14 (57%)
• Oliver Kapanen: 8-12 (67%)
• Phil Danault: 11-14 (79%)
• Jake Evans: 9-11 (82%)
• Juraj Slafkovsky: 2-2 (100%) pic.twitter.com/MYMevN3D4G
