Crazy night last night in the NHL.

Not only were the Nordiques visiting the Bell Centre, but all but two teams were in action.

Here are the results and highlights:

1. Patrick Kane, the most productive American in history

It's done! Patrick Kane has finally become the most productive American player in history.

In a shootout loss to the Capitals, he recorded an assist to surpass Mike Modano (1,375).

Kane has 1,375 points in 1,342 games in his career.

At the end of the game, with less than two minutes to go, Detroit was losing by two goals, but miraculously, the club managed to force overtime.

Alex DeBrincat scored his second goal in 47 seconds and the tying goal in bizarre fashion.

In the shootout, Charlie Lindgren was injured, finished the game, and then needed his teammates to carry him to the locker room.

A true hockey guy!

2. 30 hat tricks in January

It's a record: there were 30 hat tricks in January.

Yesterday, Alex Tuch scored the 30th hat trick of the month against the Los Angeles Kings.

And the month isn't even over yet. There are still games tonight and tomorrow.

In Buffalo's convincing win over Los Angeles, Alex Lyon stopped 37 of 38 shots. He was unbeatable.

He won his 10th consecutive game.

Jack Quinn recorded three assists in the win.

3. From 2-4 to 5-4 in two minutes

There were several impressive comebacks last night.

The Carolina Hurricanes were down 4-2 late in the third period and scored three goals in two minutes. Not only did they win, but they won in regulation time.

André Tourigny's team sat on their lead at the end of the game.

It's a shame, because Utah is currently in a playoff position, but its place in the playoffs is not set in stone.

Shayne Gostisbehere and Andrei Svechnikov both had two goals and an assist in the win.

Brandon Bussi has already reached the 20-win mark this season.

4. Miraculous comeback by the Oilers

In Edmonton, the Sharks were visiting and took a 3-0 lead early in the game.

But the worst lead in hockey didn't last long, as San Jose lost in overtime.

First, Leon Draisatil brought the home team back to life.

Then it was Connor McDavid's turn to narrow the gap.

In the dying moments, Evan Bouchard sent everyone into overtime.

In the loss, Macklin Celebrini recorded an assist.

He also tried to cancel out a penalty against the opponents, but without success.Good guy!

Celebrini draws a high-stick anyway, after trying to stick up for Ekholm. Talk about a young kid who plays an honest game. #SJSharks on the PP.

5. “Our fans are louder than theirs”

Matthew Schaefer is a young man who doesn't lack confidence.

He is an 18-year-old defenseman in the NHL and in 54 games, he has 36 points, including 14 goals. Yesterday, he scored a goal against the Rangers.

After the game, he admitted to a reporter that Islanders fans are louder than Rangers fans.

The game was played at the Blue Shirts' home arena.
