It's been a long time since Zachary Bolduc found the back of the net. A very long time.
His last goal was on December 23, when the habs faced the Bruins in Boston and won 6-2.
That said, even if he's not scoring, Boldy has found a way to make himself useful in Martin St-Louis' lineup. And there may be a reason that explains it all.
Éric Bélanger, on Tony Marinaro's podcast, claimed “from a reliable source” that the Québécois likes playing alongside Kirby Dach. He wanted to play with him, and we can see that there's a certain chemistry between the two guys.
Bolduc has started to hit even more, which makes him an interesting piece of the line he forms with Jake Evans and Dach. And once again, we saw last night how much of an impact they can have on a game.
Has the Canadiens finally found their ideal fourth line?

It's great that Bolduc has found his game again after being paired with Dach. Because it's true that the two complement each other well: Bolduc can create space on the ice with his physicality, and Dach has great creativity with the puck.
That said, we know Bolduc has great potential and the ability to score goals. But seeing him play physically, as he has been doing for the past few games, we also realize that he has more than one skill in his toolbox.
That's what we want to see from him, after all. When he's involved on the ice, Bolduc is capable of playing an important role for the Canadiens. He's able to create opportunities and bring energy to his teammates, which is a good thing in itself.
The important thing now is to see him continue on this path. Because the results will come if he keeps playing the right way. He'll be able to get more playing time— note that he spent 15:12 on the ice last night —and he'll have his chances if he can play a little more.
