How many Québécois will be on the Canadian team representing the country in a few days at the Olympics in Italy? Zero.
How many were there on the Canadian U20 team that won bronze at the world championships earlier this month? One, and he didn't play a very big role.
Who is the top Québécois scorer so far this season in the NHL? Anthony Mantha with 35 points in 51 games in Pittsburgh… which puts him only 105th among all scorers in the Bettman circuit as of noon today.
Yes, québécois hockey is in bad shape…
But I'm not sure it's because of the Americans.
I agree with every word of my colleague @EnricoCiccone's heartfelt cry.
The presence of Québécois players in the NHL has been declining for nearly 20 years, and the ban on fighting dates back just two years. The development league with the highest growth in… pic.twitter.com/fyHUl8cKE9

Talent dilution in many leagues, excessive registration costs, coaching that is too often inadequate before a certain age, the ban on fighting in the QMJHL, the globalization of hockey…
There are many reasons for the decline, but is it really the fault of Donald Trump and his citizens?
Keep in mind that there is one place where Québécois players excel. And I'm not talking about the U18 or the QMJHL…
Did you know that three of the top four scorers in the American Hockey League (what a coincidence!) are Québécois, and the other is Russian?
Laurent Dauphin, Alex Barré-Boulet, and that guy number 22, Jakob Pelletier, currently rank second, third, and fourth in AHL scoring, respectively.

Quebec dominates the Americans in the American Hockey League!
Joking aside, it will be interesting to see if Barré-Boulet or Pelletier will be called up by their respective clubs… and if Dauphin will be able to convince Kent Hughes or another GM to sign him to an NHL (not AHL) contract in the coming months.
Because when you dominate at a certain level, you have to get your chance to be tested at the next level. That's how it works in sports.
Unless there is systemic stigmatization, but I don't dare get into that. Not today, anyway…
Overtime
– No changes to the habs' lineup for tonight's game.
No changes for the Canadiens vs. Avs.

– CF Montréal loses.
#CFMTL lost a second preseason game (90 minutes) in as many outings in Marbella by a score of 2-1.
However, it was mutually agreed before the game to play a “third half.”
This will allow Sunusi, Opoku, and Breza to see some playing time. https://t.co/zHbCKV4Qyr
