Nazem Kadri's name has been the subject of much discussion in Montreal in recent months.
After all, he would have been a very good candidate to be the Canadiens' second-line center.
However, with the emergence of Oliver Kapanen at center on the second line, the need has diminished.
Nevertheless, he could bring experience and defensive stability, while also contributing offensively.
The only question remaining is which teams Kadri would agree to be traded to, given that he has a partial no-trade clause.
Marco D'Amico recently confirmed in a tweet that Kadri would accept a trade to Montreal.

This only adds fuel to the fire.
Kadri earns $7 million per season until the end of the 2028-29 season, which is something to think about. He is already 35 years old.
Let's also keep in mind that a player can waive his no-trade clause if necessary. But not being on the list in the first place makes everything easier.
Kapanen's strong season has greatly reduced the need to go out and find a top-6 center. He's very good alongside Ivan Demidov, and since the arrival of Juraj Slafkovsky, this line has completely changed (for the better).
However, is the Habs really a contender with Kapanen as the second center? That's where Kadri would come in handy, stabilizing the top-six offense.
After all, even though he has slowed down a bit this season, he can still bring a nice offensive touch, but it's mainly his defensive reliability that would stabilize the whole thing.
He can be used in all situations: even strength, shorthanded, and on the powerplay, which is extremely valuable as the playoffs approach.
Let's see where the London, Ontario native ends up.

– Incredible.
